This Magnetic Drain Plug – Mercury & MerCruiser Replacement (8M0058389 / 67892A1) is designed for use in lower unit gearcases where a 3/8-16 UNC drain or fill screw is required.

Suitable for a wide range of Mercury and Mariner outboards as well as MerCruiser sterndrives, the plug features a magnetic tip that attracts and holds fine ferrous metal particles circulating in the gear oil. This helps keep contaminants away from internal gears and bearings and can also provide an early indication of abnormal internal wear during servicing.

The plug comes with a pre-installed sealing washer and can be used in either the gear oil drain or fill position.

Please Note: Suitable for most Mercury/Mariner outboards using a 3/8-16 drain/fill plug. Not suitable for Verado models.
